Calling on all artists, writers, galleries and museums who have an interest in or a passion for feminism to come together in one multifaceted project called Contemporary Art and Feminism (CAF).
Contribute to our series of workshop “field days”, public events, dispersed thematic exhibitions and the like, contact: ContemporaryArtandFeminism@gmail.com
CAF participants and contributors represent the most dynamic and current interpretations of the links between contemporary art and feminism.
In March 2015 we launch the Future Feminist Archive with exhibitions at multiple venues. This commemorates art historian Joan Kerr’s National Women’s Art Exhibition (1995) and the 40th anniversary of International Women’s Year launched on 8 March 1975 at the AGNSW.
CAF is an independent platform for art, scholarship and activism with a steering committee convened by: Jo Holder, The Cross Art Projects, Sydney, Jacqueline Millner, Sydney College of the Arts, University of Sydney, Catriona Moore, Art History and Film Studies, University of Sydney
Submissions for the CAF Calendar are ongoing. Please share your feminist project or special 40th Anniversary project with the world. Submissions to the “Future Feminist Archive” call out closed October 2014.
